1979

The Company is founded when Bob Steuber, a Long Beach native, trades in his suit and tie for a truck and 100 coffee clients.

1983-1986

The California economy grows like wildfire.  Plantation Coffee expands to meet the demand.

1993

Plantation Coffee is awarded "Operator of the Year" for outstanding customer service and professionalism in the vending and Coffee Service industries.

1996

Starbucks comes of age, introducing gourmet coffee to America.

Corporate America soon realizes that serving premium-grade coffee is a great employee benefit.  The trend of serving specialty coffee at work is born.

1997

Plantation Coffee changes its name to Alta Office Services to reflect its expanded product offering, including:

     • 5 gallon water AND,

     • First Aid/First  
        Responder Kits

1998

Single Cup coffee is introduced…. Alta becomes the exclusive partner of Keurig offering Orange County’s Diedrich Coffee in K-Cups.

The freshness, choice, & convenience of Keurig alters the course of coffee at work by bringing the coffee shop into the office.

2000

Second generation leaders (Phil and Stuart) join the family business and implement new technologies (Our first website…and email…and cell phones. 
Adios pagers!!).

2000

Alta becomes the exclusive partner of The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and begins providing their products to over one thousand new clients in Santa Monica and Los Angeles.

2001-2004

Alta forms partnerships with leading roasters and single serve providers, expanding our offerings to include: Peets, Flavia, Starbucks and more.

2010

Alta and Foodcraft combine forces to become the leading provider of premium refreshments, snacks and coffee in Southern California

2011

AltaFoodcraft is awarded “Operator of the Year” by Pentair for its advancements of workplace water filtration.

2013

AltaFoodcraft evolves our coffee offering by launching strategic partnerships with 3rd Wave coffee roasters Intelligentsia and LA’s own Groundworks Coffee Roasters.

2014

AltaFoodcraft’s “Good Things at Work” slogan is adopted to encapsulate the work culture we aim to provide through our services and cultivate within our own offices.

2015

A Full Service Snack & Pantry is introduced to AltaFoodcraft’s services to meet the growing demand for office snacks and beverages.

The snack and beverage offerings range from chips and sodas to trending healthy snacks catering to a variety of dietary restrictions.

2016

AltaFoodcraft expands our 3rd Wave coffee offerings by partnering with California-based roaster Philz Coffee. Leading the way in redefining office amenities, AltaFoodcraft also begins offering Kegerators for Cold Brew and Kombucha on tap.

2017

AltaFoodcraft upgrades our IT systems to better serve our clients. This new technology platform enables AltaFoodcraft to expand our features and benefits valued by business customers.

2019

AltaFoodcraft marks our 40th Anniversary by releasing a video celebrating our values and recommitting to our mission statements. Watch the video here!
